Fondant!
Hello everyone! I’m writing to share with you some parts of the process of my cake making! I’ll try to keep up with the “blog” thing, but it will take some getting used to!
First I’d like to share just some basics of what I do…icing and covering a cake with fondant, since many people have been asking about fondant lately!
After I bake the cake layers, I fill the cake with alternating layers of cake and buttercream (in this case also a thin layer of raspberry preserves)
I go ahead and frost a thin layer of buttercream over the cake. Then I roll out a sheet of fondant large enough to drape over the cake.
I smooth down the fondant over the cake.
When everything is nice and smooth, I cut the remaining fondant off with a palette knife and I am ready to either stack my cake or start decorating!
